Players who frequent Nephalem Rifts in Diablo 3 have something to look forward to in Diablo 3’s upcoming content update. Patch 2.1.0 will be adding Greater Rifts where Diablo 3 account holders can test their Diablo 3 items against harder enemies.
Less Diablo 3 items more fights
The new Greater Rifts will be timed events. To emphasize this, all mobs except the Rift Guardian will not drop any Diablo 3 items. Instead, each monster killed will fill up a progress bar collectors of D3 items need to fill before time runs out. The tougher the mob, the more it will fill the progress bar. Filling up the bar before the time runs out takes players to the next level of the Greater Rift where harder enemies will be.
Accessing Greater Rifts to gather Diablo 3 items
Access to the Greater Rifts will require Greater Rift keys. These can be obtained along with Diablo 3 items from Nephalem Rift Guardians. The keys can then be used at the Nephalem Obelisk to open a Greater Rift key where players can test their Diablo 3 legendary items.
